Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance & Control at our Middletown Works facility. The Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance & Control will lead a group of Electronic Repairmen and provide troubleshooting support.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the activities of 5-20 Electronic Repairmen, for the purpose of providing preventive and maintenance services in a safe, efficient manner for their area of responsibility.

  • Lead and assist in system troubleshooting and repairs.  Work to determine the root cause of all electrical failures and develop/implement solutions to stop recurrence.

  • Provide troubleshooting support to electrical technicians after normal working hours when needed.

  • Maintain and improve electrical documentation.

  • Develop long and short-term plans for equipment improvements.

  • Plan equipment outages and upgrades.  Assist maintenance service providers and contractors during these plans.

  • Clearly communicate information relating problems and their solutions to Operations managers and EM&C managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred.

  • 3 years of control systems and PLC’s experience is preferred.

  • Previous experience as an electronic technician and/or supervisory experience over electronic technicians will also be considered.

  • Management experience of electronic technicians in performing basic installation, troubleshooting, and calibration duties is preferred.

  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical control systems.

  • PLC troubleshooting experience, especially with Rockwell ControlLogix or Siemens PLC Series 5/7, is a plus.
