Cleveland-Cliffs is actively seeking a Workday Program Manager to support our growing organization, based at our Corporate Headquarters in Cleveland, OH.  The person in this role will serve as second-in-command to the HRIS Manager, providing operational leadership, decision support, and continuity of service across all Workday functional areas, with primary accountability for Core HCM and Security.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for process improvements and assisting in the support of various areas in Workday, including but not limited to Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Payroll, Talent, Performance Management, Time Tracking, Benefits, and Integrations
  • Serve as a strong consultative partner to HR Business Partners in service delivery
  • Test, validate, and implement Business Process, Condition Rule, and Eligibility Rule changes in Workday
  • Work to meet expected business performance goals by providing a full range of customer service
  • Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen
  • Analyze, design, and build new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality (ex: Report Writer, Calculated Fields)
  • Identify, document, and mitigate single points of failure within HRIS by establishing backup coverage, cross-training, and standard operating procedures for critical processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of five years of Workday experience or training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing high-risk HRIS processes, including system security, payroll-impacting configurations, and business process governance
  • Experience serving as a backup for HRIS/Workday administration in a complex environment
  • Strong understanding of access controls, audit requirements, and system risk management   
  • Understanding of HR operations and supervisory experience working with employee data management
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and IT clients
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients’ needs and situation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • HR functional experience preferred
  • Supervisory or Managerial experience

The salary range for this role is $120,000-$135,000.  An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
