Job Description
Location: Detroit, MI
Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America’s premier processors, buyers, sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs and has an immediate opportunity for a Fleet Manager on 1st Shift at the Kee Container location. The Fleet Manager is responsible for the management of fleet equipment and managing teams of technicians who are responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles.
Summary of Responsibilities:

Purchase vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet

Schedule regular maintenance on all vehicles

Order urgent or emergency repairs as needed

Establish efficient routes and transportation schedules

Coordinate Drivers and Mechanics when setting employee schedules

Manage vehicle licensure and registration

Ensure all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training

Monitor Drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices

Search for, hire, and train new Drivers

Provide reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress

Develop methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Knowledge and experience of DOT guidelines
-
Experience in all areas of preventative maintenance
-
Experience in troubleshooting equipment problems

Organizational skills

Good communication skills
