Job Description
Cleveland-Cliffs is currently looking for an IT Automation Platform Engineer to facilitate deployment of a single AI-powered automation platform to fundamentally reduce IT service desk ticket volume across our steel mills and corporate operations. This role will be responsible for the platform from initial deployment through enterprise-wide adoption.
Summary of Responsibilities:

Own day-to-day operations of the AI automation platform and its enterprise integrations

Design, build, test, and deploy automation workflows including API connections, scripting, decision logic, and error handling

Manage platform configuration changes, workflow deployments, and version updates

Build automated password reset workflows across Active Directory, Okta, Dayforce, and legacy systems

Design identity verification workflows ensuring users are authenticated before automated actions execute

Implement automated onboarding, offboarding, and role-change workflows across Workday, AD, Okta, and ServiceNow

Monitor AI classification accuracy, self-service resolution rate, and escalation volume

Analyze misclassified incidents to improve AI accuracy and identify training data gaps

Mine incident data to identify next-highest-value automation targets and build the case for new use cases

Curate and maintain IT knowledge base content structured for AI consumption

Develop end-user self-service guidance and adoption materials

Coordinate voice channel integration with existing telephony infrastructure

Maintain API integration health between the AI platform and ServiceNow

Partner with IAM, HR systems, and managed service provider teams on automation requirements

Manage the vendor relationship including TAM engagement, support tickets, and roadmap alignment
Minimum Qualifications:
-
3+ years in IT operations, infrastructure engineering, or IT platform administration
-
Active Directory administration – hands-on account, group, and OU management
-
PowerShell scripting – writing and maintaining scripts for provisioning, system queries, and automation tasks; Python is a plus

REST API integration – consuming APIs, testing with Postman or equivalent, interpreting JSON/XML payloads

Identity lifecycle management – onboarding, offboarding, and role-change processes across HR, directory, and ITSM systems

Analytical skills – using operational data to identify patterns and drive improvements

Ability to translate business processes into technical workflow logic
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Okta or comparable identity provider experience (Azure AD/Entra, Ping, CyberArk) including SSO/SAML and MFA

ServiceNow administration or integration experience

Experience with workflow orchestration or automation platforms

Prior exposure to conversational AI, chatbot, or virtual agent platforms

ITIL Foundation or equivalent ITSM framework knowledge

IT experience in a 24/7 manufacturing or industrial environment
The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $105,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
