Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Senior IT Applications Engineer at our Burns Harbor, Indiana location.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Support shipping applications, internal websites, message queuing, custom client server applications developed in .Net, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, end user applications etc., to support the Plant Applications area. 
  • Complete the programming, working quickly and cost effectively. 
  • Get requirements, create functional & technical specifications, program, test, implement, and maintain applications. 
  • Adhere to company programming and process standards. 
  • Collaborate with the business, other team members, or vendors participating in meetings to analyze and develop project requirements and technical support tasks. 
  • Work proactively to take requirements and modify or develop applications while identifying all critical interfaces and address any impact in user testing and implementation. 
  • Plan, organize, and implement technical projects and solutions following the Change Management process.
  • Create required documentation /evidence for enhancements or new applications systems with expertise and experience in the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • Ensure timely and effective feedback for customer issues and requests while providing recommendations for enhancements or changes to correct or minimize support issues. 
  • Provide 24 X 7 on-call support for existing Burns Harbor applications. 
  • Develop and support of online and batch applications.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must have a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field and
  • 3 years of experience as a Software Developer, .Net Developer, or related.
  • Must have 3 years of experience with the following: IIS, .Net technologies (ASP.NET and VB.NET), MVC, LINQ, SSRS, SSIS, TFS, GIT, WPF, entity framework and XAM; Oracle and SQL databases, SQL language and SQL Management StudioVisual Studio and related tools.
  • Utilizing the SDLC process in software development or Agile Methodology.
  • Collaborating with teams across all levels of the organization from management to front line workers; and working in a steel manufacturing environment.
  • In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience with each of the elements listed above.
