Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Financial Analyst. As a Financial Analyst at the Cleveland-Cliffs Coatesville location, you will be part of a team making steel that goes into products that are visible all around you, including bridges, heavy equipment, energy infrastructure, and shipbuilding. East Plate analysts support our Coatesville and Conshohocken plants. Ideal candidates are self-starters who enjoy a work environment where they can work independently to develop creative solutions while looking for opportunities to develop further in their career. The position will be actively engaged with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel. The individual's responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close functions related to the operating costs of our manufacturing units including preparation of journal entries as well as report preparation for area of responsibility.
- Analyze and report on fluctuations in operating costs monthly.
- Participate in the quarterly forecasting process as well as the annual budgeting process of the various production units
- Provide support to operations personnel as needed for special analytic requests.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for the analyst area.
- Support process flow for various accounts payable needs for area of responsibility.
- Participate in physical inventory counts, as needed, on a quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis.
- Support audit requests, both internal and external.
- Support plant accounting requests, both internal and external as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related field
- 1-2 years of cost and/or financial accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with SAP and other Microsoft products
