Job Description
Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works, has an immediate opening for a Process Control Engineer. The Process Control Engineer will be responsible for supporting and developing new and existing applications and programs in our Hot Rolling Mill Department. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and thrive in a complex environment.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Support existing custom applications and development of new systems (this will include computer programming and some system administration skills).
- Use computers and PLC’s to control process equipment used in the production and processing of steel.
- Analyze problems to find root cause involving user contact occasionally to diagnose the problem.
- Be willing to respond to troubleshoot calls on a 24/7 basis.
- Commission new control systems.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of control theory (PID and PI control).
- Knowledge of DC drives (ABB and Reliance Drives a plus) and large DC motors.
- Knowledge of PLC programming (ControlLogix and Automax).
- Knowledge of furnace controls.
- Knowledge of IBA Server.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of manufacturing or steel industry experience.
- Administration of Level 2 systems.
