Job Description

Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Engineer in our Tillsonburg, Ontario Stamping Facility. The Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing all stages of the manufacturing system to maximize the quality of the products being produced. The ideal candidate will have prior knowledge of prevention planning and the correction of non-conformances, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process/ product related concerns 
  • Enhance the Quality System with continuous improvement activities, such as 5S, Kaizen, and lean methods 
  • Develop, implement, and participate in training to build/ improve quality awareness among new and existing employees 
  • Coach, mentor, and support a team of Quality Inspectors 
  • Analyze failure and preventative actions to ensure a timely resolution to all customer concerns/ complaints 
  • Plan, organize, and maintain quality documentation  
  • Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct internal/ external audits
  • Evaluate and examine the company’s product specifications to equal customer requirements 

  

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • 3 years of supervisory or related work experience in a manufacturing/ production environment  
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent 
  • Ability to retain information and communicate effectively, both written and oral 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time/ lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment 
  • Able to work 3-shift model: Midnights, Days, Afternoons, and required OT  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5 years of supervisory or related work experience in a manufacturing/ production environment  
  • Experience with computerized living documents (PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP)
