Job Description
The Environmental Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the plant’s adherence to environmental regulations and standards. This position is responsible for conducting internal audits, evaluating regulatory changes, and guiding plant operations to maintain compliance with federal and state environmental requirements. Key duties include drafting environmental operating permits, managing ISO 14001 Environmental Management System audits, and preparing required environmental reports. The role also involves direct interaction with regulatory agencies and cross-functional support to maintenance and operations teams for implementing new compliance measures.
Summary of Responsibilities

Performs internal environmental audits and provides regulatory guidance to plant management regarding regulatory compliance

Drafts the application for plant environmental operating permits

Assesses the impact of regulatory changes that affect plant operations

Provides direction and assistance to maintenance and operating departments for implementing new regulatory requirements

Interacts with State and Federal regulatory agencies with regard to environmental operating permits, inspections and other regulatory matters

Audits and maintains the ISO 14001 Environmental Management system

Prepares and submits required environmental reports

Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical, Environmental

Minimum three (3) years of experience in Environmental Management

Familiarity with NPDES, Title V, and Solid Waste Permits, PPC/SPCC

Environmental Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
