Job Description
Cleveland-Cliffs is currently seeking a qualified Engineer to join our Cleveland Works Quality team at the facility in Cleveland, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality steel products, including hot-rolled steel, cold-reduced galvanized, and galvannealed coated products, serving the automotive, appliance, and other industrial markets.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Input steel routings into plant manufacturing systems
- Lead the disposition of held materials
- Provide support for Quality Management initiatives, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), corrective actions, and measurement device oversight
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Cleveland plant
- Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries related to product quality
- Coordinate with other quality teams across Cleveland-Cliffs facilities
- Conduct data analysis to assess and improve product capability
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective typing and data entry skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems
- Experience working in a unionized environment
