Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare standard accounting reports by gathering, recording, and accumulating data.
• Interpret accounting results, recognize deviations, analyze causes, and make recommendations for improvements or corrective action.
• Collect, analyze, and report actual manufacturing costs, material, labor, etc., comparing budget costs to actual production costs.
• Develop reporting and analytics while working closely with Operations management on financial impact and final reporting.
• Maintain internal control and compliance requirements related to manufacturing accounting activities.
• Monitor and control raw material inventory
• Prepare weekly cost projections.
• Contribute to and provide support for month end closings.
• Assist with internal/external audit requests.
• Continually improve processes and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Knowledge of GAAP, month end close process, and account reconciliation procedures
• Exceptional analytical ability, detailed orientation, and commitment to accuracy
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Willingness and ability to go into plant as needed which involves wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+  years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Oracle general ledger experience
• SAS programming experience
