Cleveland-Cliffs Cleveland Works has an immediate opening for a Process Manager – Electrical Maintenance in our Hot Mill Division. The following primary position responsibilities and key position requirements are intended to provide an overview of the position, but are not all-inclusive.
Job Description:
- Responsible for safe daily maintenance work activities including: work identification, long and short term planning, scheduling, spares management, execution and follow up of all maintenance work.
- Works directly with HSM mechanical maintenance and operations personnel.
- Provides technical support for operations personnel.
- Maintains existing HSM electrical equipment and provides knowledge and experience for equipment and process improvements.
- Manages hourly maintenance personnel and directly supervises HSM MTEs.
- Utilizes outside resources as necessary to maintain area equipment.
- Performs safety audits, observations, and assists in accident investigations as required.
- Writes bid specs for area materials and services, receives/reviews quotes, and orders parts for area.
- Sets appropriate inventory levels for spares.
- Maintains HSM equipment including, but not limited to: large AC & DC mill motors, AC & DC motors, drives, and various feedback devices.
- Directly supervises the maintenance and repair of motors and drive systems up to 11.5KV. Familiar with electric motor theory and repair.
- Write department procedures including PMs, SOPs, JSAs, ECPs.
- Must be willing to work in adverse conditions: hot, cold, at heights, long hours. Overtime is necessary on a frequent basis for repairs and outages and must be available for assistance on nights & weekends.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering field.
- 3-5 years industrial electrical experience.
- At least 3 years supervisory experience in heavy industry or the military, with electrical maintenance aptitude. Strong leadership and team skills are necessary.
- Basic computer skills and be willing to learn other application software.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Over 5 years of experience in rolling mills either maintenance or operations.
- Familiar with analog DC drives and regulators, AC & DC drives, PLCs, distributed I/O, AC & DC motor theory, maintenance & control.
- Understanding of control devices: lasers, pressure, flow, temperature, level transducers. HMDs, scales, overhead traveling DC cranes, digital and analog camera systems.
- Basic understanding of gauging equipment: Xray, width, shape.
